The Pandemic Effect

For three years, I have been able to avoid Covid. I know that just that word brings up a maelstrom of emotions and political views. I, for one, will avoid political opinion within this article. It is something we have all dealt with and mentally, I need a break! That being said, it finally found me!

I went in for routine testing before being on the set of a TV show and much to my surprise and chagrin, I tested positive. This role was going to be a role in which my wife and I would definitely get some camera time, so my disappointment was great. But, camera time is not the issue here and neither should it be.

TV and movie productions cost money...big money. And although many people are restitant to constantly getting tested, it is a necesssity for everyone involved from the intake person to the hair and make-up to the actors; primary or those that walk across the set once.

Yes, the testing is bothersome, but very essential for all involved. It appears that Covid is not as previlent as it was two years ago, but it, and other illnesses are still out there. Take those screening questionaires, that many production companies use, seriously! Be honest and be accurate.

Since the testing, I have taken appropriate actions to keep others safe from what I had. Please do the same. No amound of air-time can make up for passing on an illness that could effect someone in a severely negative way.
